Arch Noble, Note Here, 2026
hand-sculpted shadowbox
5.5" H Ă— 7.5" W Ă— 1.75" D
"Not Here" (2026) is an original hand-sculpted shadowbox that serves as a precise miniature reconstruction of a charged moment between two men. The diorama depicts two rival hockey players standing naked in a communal locker room shower. One figure, wearing only a delicate gold chain, faces the viewer unapologetically, his right hand caught in mid-stroke. The second figure stands with his back to the viewer, muscular and glistening under the water. The composition deliberately opens up the space to reveal the full, explicit tension of the encounter: raw male desire caught in the charged moment when impulse collides with hesitation. The title echoes the reluctant protest, spoken even as attraction and arousal are unmistakably present. The sculpture is entirely hand-modeled in polymer clay, using acrylic and enamel paints, with resin used to render glistening water droplets on skin, defined musculature, wet hair, and the crisp architectural details of the white tiled walls, metal fixtures, and sterile fluorescent lighting of the locker room. The finished piece is mounted in a clean white wooden shadowbox frame.
